Go Beyond Pink and Red this Year.

February 14 is fast approaching, and love is in the air! This Valentine’s Day, we’re celebrating love in all forms: be it romance, friendship or self-love. But different plans present different outfit needs. Before you put everything remotely heart-shaped in your cart, flick through our guide of cute and creative looks for V-Day!

1. Big Night Out
Go big, go bold – don’t go home

Let’s get loud! This might be a holiday filled with heart-shaped candy, but that doesn’t mean you have to be saccharine sweet. Bring an edge to your look by layering statement styles and create contrast by pairing traditional metal or diamante designs with pops of colour.

Remember, bigger is better and more is more. To achieve this look, layer multiple necklaces, preferably of different lengths and thicknesses, together. Choose a matching chunky bracelet (or opt for several fine bracelets) and add a contrasting pair of statement earrings to finish the look. With or without a honey, this is the perfect look for a night on the town!

2.  Dinner for Two
These Signature Styles Will Have Your Date Gazing at More than Your Eyes.

It may just be the two of you, but that’s no reason to play it safe! If your V-Day plans include a candlelit dinner, you’ll need classic jewellery to match. Pair polished pearls with glittering diamantes for the ultimate too-glam-to-give-a-damn look. Add your own personal flare by experimenting with playful details: break up conventional styles with modern butterfly and heart charms or incorporate a subtle splash of colour with a gem-studded cocktail ring. This look gives a nod to traditional pairings while incorporating a distinctly modern finish – perfect for date night!

3. Picnic in the Park
For those that care for a daytime affair!

Why wait till after 5? Get out and about! This look is all about warm tones and soft colour palettes. Instead of dazzle and diamantes, choose pearls, delicate chains, pretty patterns and warm gold tones.

For this look, tie a colourful scarf around your neck, wrist or bag. Opt for a dainty chain necklace and give your look an elevated finish with freshwater pearl embellishments and flower motifs. Daytime events provide a great opportunity to play with statement hair accessories, so experiment with chunky clips, claws or headbands.

This is the perfect look for a daytime date – with or without a partner. No plans? No problem. Take yourself out! Go for a long walk, take a book to the park, sightsee in your own city or get lost in nature. Valentine’s Day is all about celebrating love – how about celebrating the most constant relationship you’ll ever have: the one with yourself. You deserve it!

4. Galentine's
Forget the pearls – grab your girls!

Who said romantic love is the best kind of love? Your pals deserve pomp and pageantry too! Get dressed to the nines and celebrate friendship this Galentine's.

This look is all about layering! The more details and colour, the better. Wear a layered necklace or choose multiple chains that complement one another. Stack statement rings together, and for a funkier look opt for styles that clash. Wear multiple earrings – huggie hoops and studs are excellent for curating a custom earring look and pay homage to Hallmark’s favourite holiday with delightfully cheesy motifs like hearts, lips and flowers. Make sure you incorporate V-Day staple colours - pink and red – into your outfit. Be as overt or as subtle as you like!

There you have it – now all that’s left is choosing the right look for you!
